If the watch has a conventional lug arrangement which will hold a straight ended watch strap, you can attach almost all watch straps to that watch. However, some watches are designed so that you cannot fit a universal replacement watch strap to it.

The easiest way to check your band size is to check the back of the band for any stampings that would indicate the size (like the sample below). If there is no indication of the size on the back of your old band, then make a measurement between the lugs where the band attaches to the watch (like the sample below).

The easiest and most accurate way to find your strap size is to use a ruler and measure between the lugs. This is known as the lug width. This is also the same as the strap width. The lugs are the pointy ends of your watch which hold the strap onto the watch.

1. Compatibility. There is no universal 'one size fits all' solution when it comes to pairing straps with watches. If you own an extra large sports watch, you'll require a replacement strap with different measurements to, say, a vintage wristwatch with a far smaller case.
